Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a fighting game and the newest entry in the Super Smash Bros. franchise. It was released on December 7, 2018 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
Connections to Bayonetta
Every character that has ever been playable in a Super Smash Bros. game returns as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This includes Bayonetta, since she was playable in Super Smash Bros. 4.
Rodin appears in this title as an Assist Trophy.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate introduced the concept of "Spirits", a way to represent characters from various series who aren't for whatever reason playable fighters within the game. These Spirits boost the stats of fighters they are equipped to, besides Fighter Spirits, which only serve to show off art from the characters home games.
The following is a list of spirits from the Bayonetta series. Intented entries represent spirits who are enhanced from the spirit above them.
- Bayonetta (Bayonetta 2)
- Bayonetta (Bayonetta)
- Madama Butterfly
- Masked Lumen
- The playable Star Fox cast are based off their Star Fox Zero incarnations, a game developed by PlatinumGames for the Wii U.
- Two of the main characters from The Wonderful 101; Wonder-Red and Wonder-Blue appears as spirits. In addition, two music tracks from the game; ST01: Roll Out, Wonderful 100! and Jergingha - Planet Destruction Form appears as songs played in miscellaneous stages (stages from a series without a playable character)
The Umbra Clock Tower returns as a stage for players to combat on. The original and Omega variant appear, as well as an all new Battlefield variant, giving it the same layout as the Smash Bros. series signature stage Battlefield.
