Dropped Weapons are temporarily equippable items that drop from angels and demons in Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, and are partially present in Bayonetta 3. These weapons are initially wielded by the types Bayonetta encounters and must be defeated in order for a specific weapon to be used.
Angel Arms[]
Bayonetta[]
The first Bayonetta introduces Angel Arms, the weaponry of forces of Paradiso. Initially wielded by the angels themselves, Bayonetta can perform a Torture Attack on a particular enemy and killing with the ability will cause them to drop the weapon they are using.
Once picked up, the Angel Arms completely replace Bayonetta's equipped weapon moveset, and can be dropped by holding . While extremely powerful, most of the weapons have very basic combos and are not very quick in their movements. They also have a set amount of uses before they dissipate.
By defeating the secret superboss Rodin and unlocking his namesake weapon, Bayonetta can use Angel Arms at any time as part of the weapon's normal moveset.
Staff[]
Staves are dropped by Affinity A and Applaud B.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a triple combo where she slams her enemies with the staff, ending with a downward swing.
Pressing will have Bayonetta pole dancing on the weapon stabbed into the ground, dealing massive AoE damage in a circle around her. Rotating extends the duration and range. Using this move will instantly use up the weapon.
Trumpet[]
Trumpets are dropped by Affinity B.
Pressing will have Bayonetta fire a magical sphere at her enemies.
Pressing will have Bayonetta fire a magical sphere that can penetrate her enemies, allowing it to hit multiple targets.
Sousaphone[]
Sousaphones are dropped by Affinity C.
Pressing will have Bayonetta fire a long, continuos beam from the sousaphone in a straight line. The beam can be slightly angled left and right by rotating . The weapon disappears upon finishing the move.
Pressing will have Bayonetta spin the sousaphone around her hips like a hula hoop, firing off a continuous damaging beam from the horn as it spins. Using this move will instantly use up the weapon.
Flail[]
Flails are dropped by Affinity D.
Pressing will have Bayonetta twirl the flail above her head and continuously pressing the button will cause her to keep spinning it in series of three rotations. Nearby enemies can be struck up to three times with the flail on each spin.
Pressing will have Bayonetta swing the flail once, and then slam it downwards for quick damage.
Axe[]
Axes are dropped by Beloved.
Pressing will have Bayonetta swing the axe around her in an arc, then slam it down vertically. The initial swing can hit multiple times. If airborne, Bayonetta will plummet into the ground at the end of the attack.
Pressing will have Bayonetta throw the axe at enemies as it spins and deals continuous damage before returning to her.
Greatsword[]
Greatswords are dropped by Ardor.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a slow but powerful three-hit combo with the massive weapon.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a thrusting attack, similar to a slower version of the Stiletto attack.
Whip Bow Blades[]
Whip Bow Blades are dropped by Applaud A.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a three-hit combo with the whip blades, ending with a downward spinning slash. If airborne, the spin lasts longer until Bayonetta hits the ground.
Pressing will have Bayonetta use the weapon as a bow, firing off powerful arrows. Holding charges the attack up for more damage and 2 more arrows.
Claws (Grace)[]
Fire Claws are dropped by Grace.
Pressing will have Bayonetta do the basic comho from Durga's fire arsenal. Holding will change Bayonetta's stance, while releasing in this state will extend one of the claws towards her enemy to drag them towards her.
Pressing will have Bayonetta twirl around in a fire tornado conjured by the claws and can be directed around the area while she spins with . Holding the button down for longer will cause the tornado's duration to increase, with a maximum charge using up the weapon.

Pikes are dropped by Braves and function in the same way as the axes from Beloved.

Bayonetta 2[]
Angel Arms return in the second game. While some are from the original, the majority of them are newly designed with the introduction of new angels to wield them.
Unlike in Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2's Angel Arms don't replace the currently equipped weapon moveset and are instead used with . Though they still only have limited usage, they allow Bayonetta to fight normally with her other weapons and choose to save the Arm for later.
Upon defeating Rodin and unlocking his namesake weapon, Bayonetta can once again use Angel Arms at any time using its regular moveset, this time with the addition of Devil Arms.
Staff[]
Staves are dropped by Affinity A and Applaud A.
Pressing will have Bayonetta pole dancing on the weapon stabbed into the ground, dealing massive AoE damage in a circle around her. Rotating extends the duration and range. Notably, the move abruptly stops dealing damage a second before the animation ends, which was not an issue present in the original Bayonetta. The weapon will instantly disappear upon ending the move.
Flail[]
Flails are dropped by Affinity B.
Pressing will have Bayonetta swing the flail once, and then slam it downwards for quick damage.
Trumpet[]
Trumpets are dropped by Affinity C.
Pressing will have Bayonetta fire a magical sphere at her enemies. Using this move consumes the weapon.
Whip Bow Blades[]
Whip Bow Blades are dropped by Applaud B.
Pressing will have Bayonetta use the weapon as a bow, firing off powerful arrows. Holding charges the attack up for more damage and 2 more arrows.
Axe[]
Axes are dropped by Beloved.
Pressing will have Bayonetta swing the axe around her in an arc, then slam it down vertically. The initial swing can hit multiple times. If airborne, Bayonetta will plummet into the ground at the end of the attack. Notably, the initial swing deals less hits compared to the original incarnation of the weapon.
Claws (Grace)[]

Pressing will have Bayonetta twirl the spear around her for drastic area-of-effect damage before slamming it into the ground for an additional impact. The final blow can launch smaller enemies away from her. If airborne, Bayonetta will twirl the spear, and plummet into the ground shortly after.
Harp[]
Harps are dropped by Acceptance B.
Pressing will have Bayonetta fire a quick burst of three arrows in quick succession like a bow.
Dual Blades[]
Dual Blades are dropped by Accolade B.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a slow but powerful three-hit combo that slashes at enemies in front of her.
Hammer[]
Hammers are dropped by Accolade C.
Pressing will have Bayonetta swinging a gigantic hammer downwards three times for good damage. If airborne, Bayonetta can only swing the hammer once before plumetting.
Shield[]
Shields are dropped by Accolade D.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a shoulder tackle with the shield very similar to the Tetsuzanko technique.
Scepter[]
Scepters are dropped by Enrapture.
Pressing will have Bayonetta twirling the scepter around, and then posing seductively with it to drain magic out of her enemies.
Chainsword[]
Chainswords are dropped by Allegiance.
Pressing will have Bayonetta stab the sword into the ground, causing the chain-like links of its blade to stab upwards beneath a targeted enemy's feet. If airborne, Bayonetta will plummet into the ground, then stab the chainsword into the ground and perform the rest of the move like normal.
Dual Flails (Urbane)[]
Fire Dual Flails are dropped by Urbane.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a three-hit combo, spinning the flails around her in a circle before jumping upwards and slamming them into the ground.
Dual Flails (Gravitas)[]
Ice Dual Flails are dropped by Urbane.
Pressing will have Bayonetta spin the flais around her, covering a massive area with them, freezing any enemy that comes into contact with the attack.
Bayonetta 3[]
With Bayonetta 3 revamping the combat system, combined with the rarity of angels and demons as enemies, dropped weapons do not make an reappearance, with the exception of the Key found in multiple locations across Thule. However, just like in the first two games, Rodin returns as a weapon, allowing for Bayonetta to wield the second game's arsenal of Angel and Devil Arms.
As in Bayonetta 2, Angel Arms will not replace the user's current weapon moveset. Instead, the Angel Arms can be utilized by pressing the button.
Key[]
Keys are the only Angel Arm, and consequentially the only Dropped Weapon to make an appearance in the third instalment. When equipped, they share a moveset with the greatswords from the first game.
Pressing will have either Bayonetta or Viola perform a slow but powerful three-hit combo with the massive key.
Devil Arms[]
Bayonetta 2[]
Devil Arms are a second type of weapon introduced in Bayonetta 2, the demonic counterpart to Angel Arms. Identical to Angel Arms in use, these weapons are dropped upon killing a demon enemy with a Torture Attack.
Scythe[]
Scythes are dropped by Hideous A.
Pressing will have Bayonetta spin the scythe in front of her multiple times, hitting the enemy numerous times.
Dual Swords[]
Dual Swords are dropped by Hideous B.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a slow but powerful combo that slashes at enemies in front of her. Holding will enlarge the swords for extra range and damage.
Shotgun[]
Shotguns are dropped by Hideous C.
Pressing will have Bayonetta spin on the spot to ready the gun before firing off a powerful blast in front of her. The shot can hit multiple foes at once and can launch smaller enemies away.
Double Scythe[]
Double Scythes are dropped by Hatred.
Pressing will have Bayonetta throw the scythe away from her like a boomerang, dealing continuous damage with the spinning blades before returning to her.
Wheel[]
Wheels are dropped by Pain and Pride.
Pressing will have Bayonetta kick at the wheel to set it spinning into the ground before launching it in a straight line forward. If airborne, Bayonetta will perform a front flip and kick the wheel at her enemy much quicker. Using this move will instantly use up the weapon.
Whip[]
Whips are dropped by Resentment.
Pressing will have Bayonetta cracking the whip into the ground once, and then spinning numerous times to hit her target multiple times.
Katanas[]
Katanas are dropped by Sloth.
Pressing will have Bayonetta do a backflip into the air, and shoot numerous energy beams at her enemies. If performed in the air, Bayonetta won't ascend further when doing a backflip, and will only slightly move backwards.
Misc.[]
In addition to Angel Arms, the first Bayonetta also introduces other weapons/objects that Bayonetta can wield in the same way.
Chainsaw[]
Chainsaws are summoned for the Torture Attacks performed on Harmony. Once the attack is complete, the chainsaw is automatically equipped. They share a moveset with the greatswords.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a slow but powerful three-hit combo with the massive weapon. Each hit will stun the enemy multiple times.
Pressing will have Bayonetta perform a thrusting attack, similar to a slower version of the Stiletto attack. It can stun the enemy multiple times.
Metal Beam[]
Metal beams are temporary weapons only usable in the chase sequence of the 7th Verse of Chapter VI.
Pressing will have Bayonetta swinging the metal beam downwards. If it hits an enemy, it will disappear.
Pressing will have Bayonetta flinging the metal beam towards her target, disappearing upon collision.
Streetlight[]
Streetlights are temporary weapons only usable at the beginning of Verse 7 of Chapter VI. They mostly share a moveset with the greatswords.
Pressing will have Bayonetta doing a slower variant of the greatswords combo. Bayonetta takes a while to recovery from every hit.
Pressing will have Bayonetta swinging the streelight downwards. The recovery time is moderately fast.
