AbracadabraAbracadabra is a weapon introduced in Bayonetta 3. It is a magician-themed wand and hat set, completed by a red and blue cape, housing Mictlantecuhtli within.

In-Game Description[]

A weapon created by Mictlantecuhtli that resembles magician's gear, composed of the hat Abra and the cane Cadabra.

When used together, they create what at first appearance seems to be sleight of hand, but quickly escalates from doves to bombs and even entire vehicles being launched towards their targets.

It has yet to be understood how Abracadabra conjures its various attacks, and not even the user can fully predict what mysterious things will happen.

When this weapon is used in tandem with Demon Masquerade, the user channels Mictlantecuhtli's inexplicable power, gaining the ability to split themselves in two, rain down lightning, and create other bizarre phenomena.

Design[]

Abracadabra is a magician's hat (Abra) and a cane (Cadabra) with. The hat is a tophat coloured black, blue and red, there is a Umbra symbol drawn on top of it in golden ink and a green gemstone in the middle, on its side there are two bat wings, one red and one blue that serve as decorations. The cane is dark blue coloured with a golden bottom tip and Mictlantecuhtli's likeness in gold and silver on the top part, on top of the statuette's head there's a red crescent moon shape. Bayonetta's steps and jumps generate small bats instead of butterflies.

How to Obtain[]

Abracadabra is automatically obtained upon completing Chapter 12, along with the Mictlantecuhtli Demon Slave.

Unique Traits[]

Gather 'round! Our light show is truly magical! ― Bayonetta executing Abracadabra's Masquerade Rage

Abracadabra is a unique weapon, in that it's exclusively used to summon and command projectiles making it similar to Kafka, unlike other weapons that are used for both melee and ranged combat.

Abracadabra lets player attacks foes while keeping themselves safe. However, its DPS, while not the lowest, is still below average. Proper use of Demon Slave can help manage this.

Pressing Punch creates small, thunderous bats that are used as projectiles, and a combo for example will end with Bayonetta either sending a massive charged beam at her foes, or sending her charged body half at them. Kick attacks create larger, charged explosions, and both can be combined to create devastating combos.

Pressing Shoot has Bayonetta summon unpredictable projectiles, ranging from doves, bowling pins, to dynamite. Holding the button down has a chance of summoning either a Torture Wheel, a rocket, or even an entire police car.

Trivia[]

  • The name Abracadabra comes from the cliché "magical word" "Abracadabra" commonly associated with parlor-trick magicials, also famous for wearing tophats from whence they "conjure" many things.
  • The Masquerade splitting Bayonetta at her waist could be a possible reference to the classic illusionism trick of "sawing the lady in half".
  • The Masquerade demon can also be a reference to how magnets works together one half being red and the other one blue and always staying at a distance of each other and coming back closer again with bioelectromagnetism
  • The Masquerade is also thought to be a reference to a Manananggal from Philippine mythology. The Manananggal is a creature that is able to separate from its lower body, with fangs & wings that give it a vampire like appearance.
